The idea and development of our products
The idea for our alternative hoof protection system has grown gradually in recent years. We believe in the importance of flexible, modern hoof care solutions. It is our responsibility for our horses.
Testing of plastic horseshoes
It was back in 2014 when we started testing plastic horseshoes on our own horses. We “handcrafted” them from plastic shoes of an American manufacturer.
Research & review of material
From 2015 to 2017 we carried out intensive tests on adhesives in cooperation with the Henkel company. The tests on cadaver hooves proved that an already existing glue wouldn’t damage the horn layer of the hoof after gluing on tabs.
From 2017 to 2021 we continuously monitored the effectiveness of cyano-acrylate glue and isopropanol as degreaser on the hoof. Both are harmless when applied properly.
Since 2017 we have been testing suitable plastic and composite materials for the core and shell of a perfect horseshoe (light, stable, abrasion-resistant, modifiable, environmentally friendly).
Production of rbCarbon adhesive tabs and shoes
After our initial mini production site (25sqm) in an artist workshop location in Munich, where we started in April 2019, became too small, we moved to Erdweg-Kleinberghofen in August 2020. At this new site we have been producing our adhesive tabs and horseshoes in a semi-automated process since May 2021.
Sustainability and knowledge transfer
Our understanding of sustainability begins with a healthy work environment for our employees. We select raw materials containing recycled elements and as a next step we want to apply the principles of circular economy to our delivery process. Besides producing hoof protection products, we want to share our passion and knowledge with you. This is why we created a center for workshops where everyone interested in gluing is welcome.
